The title specifies that the work is dedicated to the artist's hometown, the fruit of the image, the corn, is somewhat of a symbol of the territory. With this drawing Bice dedicates his artistic thoughts to his country. The other components of the image serve to compose the context. Looking at the calluses in the image it is not difficult to imagine their characteristic colour, which is a very dark red, almost black. Those who know them do not need to use their imagination to imagine them in their ripe fruit colour.
