Umarel

Umarel is a dialect definition that recalls the pensioner who in the city monitors and comments on the works that public bodies have carried out in the area. They are usually people with profound experience in all fields. This work depicts an example of pensioners who at the time had not yet adopted the habit that created the appellation of the title. But the fundamental characteristics already allow us to distinguish the character. We can see the inevitable hat or cap, the newspaper in which to comment on the news reported and the park bench which allows us to create the opportunity for a routine meeting. All this to say that Bice's critical eye on what surrounds her leads her to bring emotions to paper with careful observation of details. It was the seventies and that period is very linked to works dedicated to social situations.
The painting is sold as in the photo, therefore with frame and glass.
